The Tidworth Community Area Economic Development Strategy outlines the need to provide more local employment to match the planned population growth. The intention is to ensure that wealth from local employment is retained and spent within the area. This has driven the development of the Castledown Business Park. We expect to provide a base for one or two key businesses to act as an anchor for the business park - businesses with a reasonable profile and a good reputation. They should provide ‘value' employment, to encourage the presence of higher skilled and higher rewarded workers in the Community Area, and to provide worthy careers for those leaving the armed services. In addition the business park has provision for a number of business incubation units. These are intended for start-up businesses, and will provide them with support services and business mentoring to assist their growth and success.
